Meet the Author

Ricardo Mendez

Ricardo Mendez is a physician's assistant, entrepreneur, and owner of ten thriving medical clinics serving thousands of people. Born in the United States to a family of migrant workers, he was the eighth of 12 children who traveled wherever jobs took them.

He faced discrimination throughout his life for his Hispanic heritage and thick Spanish accent—at times wasn't even allowed to attend public school, and teachers called him stupid because English was his second language. During military service, he was perceived as "the other" by those who should have been his comrades-in-arms.

At age 10, during a profound spiritual experience, Ricardo discovered five universal principles that became his compass: honesty, self-belief, respect, faith, and love. These principles guided him through military service, nursing school, a physician's assistant career, and building a successful medical business empire.

Today, Ricardo still speaks with a thick accent and still encounters people who look at him like he doesn't belong. But his life stands as living proof that when you understand your worth and live by eternal principles, nothing can stop you from succeeding.
